Embedded Software Engineering Team Leader

As the Embedded Software Engineer and team leader you will have the opportunity to contribute to a cutting-edge field that combines robotics, aerospace engineering, and advanced technology. In addition to leading the team and putting in SDLC + team and project management standards you will be contributor in the design, development, testing, or maintenance of their robotic systems and into the possibilities of applications such as security, surveillance, inspection, and more. Seeking a Software Engineering Team Lead for a leading national provider of federal defense drones, security drones, and public safety drones. The SW Engineering Team Lead will be working with a innovative team of experts specializing in the design, development, and manufacturing of tether-powered aerial solutions. We're looking for a very hands-on person who would dig in down and dirty with the team on production approximately 75% of the time and focus on management only 25%.

The position is 100% onsite in Sanford, FL, and our client is looking to onboard a Direct Hire as soon as possible.

Responsibilities:

- Lead and directly contribute to the design of all software and firmware required for
high-performance multi-rotor drone systems from initial concept through production
- Lead and directly contribute to the design and maintenance of the software repository,
version control, and distribution mechanics
- Contribute to post-mission log investigation to provide insights to the operation
conditions of the flight
- Provide technical guidance for software engineering team
- Contribute to software design process maturation (Trade Studies, Concept, PRD, CDR)
- Contribute to product roadmap (new features and / or new products)

Required Skills

- Must be US Citizen due to gov't requirement
- Bachelors degree in Software Engineering (or comparable)
- Software Engineer,7 to 8 years, Hands-on contributer
- Integrated Product Team (IPT) or other technical leadership experience
- Experience with GIT and software version control
- Experience with software release control and distribution mechanics
- Embedded, robotic or firmware systems development
